Common PTFE Types Used in Our Seals
| PTFE Type | Benefits |
|---|---|
| Carbon / Graphite filled | Longer wearing PTFE blend that excels in water and many other media types. It has a higher abrasion factor than other types, and a hard shaft is recommended. |
| Graphite filled | A long-wearing PTFE blend that works in many applications and media types. It has a lower abrasion factor and works well when shafting is of lower hardness. |
| Glass /Molly filled | A longer-wearing PTFE blend that works very well in many media types. Proven performance in lubricated applications. |
| Polyimide filled | A long-wearing PTFE blend that can be used in almost any application below boiling point. It has a very low abrasion and can be used on soft shafting with little to no wear. |
| Virgin | An unfilled PTFE, typically used for creating a labyrinth due to the high wear rate. Has a low abrasion factor to soft shafting. |
